I have discovered 20th century Japanese prints, or they have discovered me, either way I am in love,

Kawase Hasui's 'Snow at Zozoji temple'

Yesterday after shiftchange birthday girl took herself off to the gym straight away and completed a record 32 K on the easy cycle Hurray!!!.Then she went to the sauna with mr Siberia.

One of her major birthday resolutions was to clean up her cabin, but she decided to take the gutiar out to the forecastle deck for a short while instead after the sauna and luxurious (10 minutes instead of 5) shower... She had an hour before she had to go to bed anyway, so what would 10 minutes matter right ??..........WRONG.

The nightsky was a sparkling glittering wonderland... like someone had poured diamonds down the middle of the rich black velvet of the universe. And out there in the prow I felt so small.... and so powerfully alive at the same time! It was just me and nature, in all her glory, one on one. I felt a part of everything around me, and for ONCE i didnt look for the north star... I'd taken the guitar with me, and it sounded like a choir of angels (ok so now im totally faffing- but the guitar did sound special, but i suspect it was the ambiance that did it)

End result is that My cabin is still a disaster zone, but i slept dreamlessly for the first time in a long long while.
